I HAVE BEEN AWAY FOR THE WEEKEND
This past weekend in Emek Izrael, Beit Shean, Hyarden Hharari and Drom Hagolan was one of the most beatiful
weekends i have experienced in my little country.
I will come up with some nice stories and photos later in the week.
and for now, another one of my songs.
the race
words and music: Aba translated by: Noa
in the desperate race after what you don’t have
you become addicted, you become committed.
you give up a lot of what of what you’ve already achieved,
in the desperate race, the insane race
in the desperate race after what you don’t have
you trample, you destroy
you hurt everyone who holds you dear
in the desperate race, the insane race
and then, when you’ve arrived
and finally you find!
you realize, suddenly,
that it’s not what you had in mind
and it all
begins
again.
and again you trample and destroy,
you wound, you hurt,
you do..
in the desperate race
after something new.

The new Madrid
fly like a fly? where is Picasso? only the sso is here, english people still sound like english people.
I love my children
nervous song
words: Aba translates to English by Noa
music: Aba, Ran Shemtov
when your kid grows up,
he’ll come to you and ask and you’ll tell him…
what will you tell him?
will you tell him I didn’t know
will you tell him I didn’t listen
will you tell him I was busy?
will you tell him I didn’t think
will you tell him I didn’t inspect
I ran and provided I cared for you..
when your kid grows up he’ll come and ask
he won’t believe you he won’t understand you!
then you’ll tell him.. what will you tell him?
you’ll tell him I had no words I had no pity I had no pain I didn’t stop I forgot, neglected, gave up, I saw nothing.
I used to travel all around the world for business. My wife would tell me, ashi, the kids are young, they need a father at home and not abroad. I thought she doesn't understand. I saw many of my American and European collegues arrive back home only for the weekends, having the children in a boarding school, I wanted to be like people in the real world, in the big world. Years after I learned how much stupid it was, and then came the song.

about YONA VOLACH
not this
words: Yona Vollach translated to English by:Noa
music: Aba
and this is not what
will satisfy my hunger, no
not this.
what
will ease my
mind..
no,
not this.
Yona Volach, what a poet, during the seventies of the twenties century she was the most radical
voice in in Israeli culture.
Yona re sculptured the Hebrew language. She was a controversy by being. I made music to this lyrics when 18 of age. 12 years later i asked Ilan Virtzberg to write a new composition which he recorded with
Shimon Gelbetz and Nurit Galron. At the time i managed the three of them and sometimes earlier released the legendary album "Good Vintage" with Ilan and Shimon.
I spent a lot of time with Yona, She was the most devoted woman in what ever she did.
Be it poetry, sex, love, hate, war, i would not say peace as i never saw her making peace with nobody.
In 1996 i finally recorded my composition of "not this" /"veze lo" for my first and only album The best of Aba.
Every day is the day
every day I search for strength
words: Aba translated by Noa
every day I search for strength
every day I search for reasons to reach the next day
every day I ask myself.
every day I get a new or familiar answer
and manage, with it’s help, to reach a new day.
only sometimes, when I have no answers,
my body carries itself,
and time takes us both
to a new day.
ON A NORTHERN PORT IN FRANCE
Jean’s song (Chanson)
words and music: Aba translation:Noa
in a remote place by the sea
in an almost deserted place
there live remote people
almost deserted.
in a remote place by the sea,
in an almost deserted place
there live beautiful women
waiting women..
perhaps someone will carry them far away?
perhaps someone will show them?
perhaps some passing tourist..?
in a remote place by the sea
in an almost deserted place
there live quiet people
who look out over the sea in the evenings…
in a remote place by the sea
in an almost deserted place
you can see the whole world from the beach.
and you never can know who sees more
the travellers, the wanderers, the knowers-of-things,
or those that live in that remote place
and spend evening after evening,
their entire lives,
looking out to the sea.

Izabo in France 10.2.07
I am on the train from Rennes to Paris. Izabo played for Jean Loui at Ubu in Rennes, a double bill with Archie Bronson Outfit.
The place was packed, audience were crazy for izabo. Something is going on, I can tell, I have heard we have a cult action in US colleges through myspace. Seatle radio is playing Izabo every day, nothing to say...
I am going through a great experience, happiness, music, people, some people in Rennes are so unique. I m lucky I have the opportunity to meet them.
Some like the band so much, they are confused. How come a band like this arrives from Israel? I can understand. I spoke to someone, age 52, music is his life, he never left Rennes.
I have decided to share with you all the tickets and back stage passes I have collected during my existence, I think I begun collecting sometimes in the late seventies, I have tickets for Zappa, The Stones, Roger Chapman, I have tickets from concerts where I was involved as a concert promoter such as Joe Cocker, Chick Corea, Nina Hagen.
Bloo Sweat and Tears in Tel Aviv 1972. Long time from today.
I have tickets and back stage passes for concerts where I was invoved as a soun designer or a sound and light company, endless, once in a life time experiences.
Today we try to get tickets for Psg against Monaco just before our flight.
I have Waves in my head heart and every where, I am so fucking lucky to work at Waves and to contribute all I know in sound and music while keep learning with this wonderful genius people who makes Waves Audio what it is.
I am going to add more photos. a combination of my real and virtual offices where I spend a lot of time together with photos taken from the terrace of my home in Tel Aviv.
I am waiting to get some photos from my young son, Guy, he is in India.
Tonight, tonight, tonight,
It is right, it is light, it is fight,
For music, for neusic, for smuzique,
Tonight tonight tonight.
It is right, it is tight, it is night,
To allow tomorrow, to have naboro, to sleep and make room for dreams and hopes.
It is night for life, knife to cut in the darkness and..
Izabo in Paris 8.2.07
Very soon I am going to learn how to add music, video and photos, I hope it will become more exciting.
I am in Paris, yesterday we had Izabo playing at Flesh D'or. A late night concert
in Levontin on the 5th of February. They left for Paris for a tour and promotion in support of the French release of the Fun Makers.
3 years after the original release and after Israel, The Netherlands and England comes France.
Great clip for Morning Hero, a making of film, and 2 live cuts from the previous
concert at Flesh D?Or.
All, in support of a wonderful unique band.
To me there is nothing like Izabo on the face of earth.
I met Hovannes, the one. I am negotiating havily with the label.
They are great young people with energy I can only remember I had
but today, i have no idea if i managed to maintain.
Am with Ron Peled, he is an investment banker yet a great fan of rock music.
I know I have a new friend, Roni.
I am so tired, eating , dating, but what about sleep?

WHEN YOU NEED THE BEST ARTIST MANAGER
I am approached every day by new artists desperately looking for an artist manager to develop their dream.
Many of them believe I can make it happen, I am experienced, I have enjoyed a certain level of local and international success, I am lucky, well connected and more.
Well my friends, you should know that all the above has nothing to do with breaking new artists.
Breaking an artist is all about passion, talent, hard work and most important luck. It has nothing to do with experience, connections and money.
The wave of success is as strong as the wave of failure. Success does not ask if you are talented, clever, honest or well
connected. Success is blind to your mistakes, limits or any other elements that may worry you.
When looking into some of the greatest artists history, living legends, you will realize that many of the managers involved were totally new to the artist management world when enjoying a Hugh breakthrough with an unknown artist.
More over, only a few of those legendary managers managed to develop another artist to the same level they achieved
with the artists they first worked with.
This is when they are already experienced, rich and well connected.
To name a few one can look at Ed Bicknell, legendary manager for Dire Straits, John Landau, managing Bruce Springsteen for so many years. Tony Smith with Genesis and many others.
This is not to say that from time to time you can't find an experienced manager that found a temporary formula for success.
What is important here is for a new artist not to waist time by looking for the perfect manager but rather look for the
dedicated, honest and hard working manager who can become a long term partner and a source for support.
Someone you can accept when making the wrong decision, one that will be there for you when it is getting difficult.
GOOD MORNING SATURDAY
What a wonderful day, spring is here, flowers, birds, music.
I have nithing to write about today, my life are rich and my pen is nothing but empiness.
I will see you again soon.

Purim, the new analogue PDA arrives
Purim is over, It was nice, I have virtually joined Bruce Sprinsteen's band as a rythm guitar.
We played Born in Cfar Saba, it was great.
Lately I have developped a new technology that puts into risk the business model of PDA makers such as Palm and Hp.
It is an open source that needs no software or an operating system waht so ever.
It has room for keys, disc on key, paper notes, credit card, pen, id card, a cel phone, money notes of different countries. on the cell it has a calculator, digital schedule, mp3 player, a 2 mega pixel camera and more.
It can be either transpent or with privacy control.
There is also a version of a sealed pda to allow the inclusion of tooth paste, lotion, and more when flying on an airplane with today security restrictions.
It cost very little, like a nylon bag for a sandwitch.
